My favourite vegetable is lettuce...because I too am multi-layered. |
On Saturday we went to check out Sushi Mori on Barnet Highway in Coquitlam.
One step inside and you’ll notice the decor. The origami was neatly done, the trees added color to brighten the mood and lanterns give the restaurant a pleasant glow. It’s like dining outside on a warm summer night.
James and I ordered Sushi Boat B. The food was fantastic and the sushi was fresh. I forgot to photograph the boat but it looked just as good as it tasted! I think we’ve found our new favorite sushi restaurant. I look forward to going back and trying other things on their menu!
James and I didn’t go out yesterday for some new eats. We’ll be saving the dinner out (and review) for my birthday weekend. Woo hoo!
Until then, here is a review of the Pear Tree in Burnaby. One of my favorites…and not because my friend, Omar works there!
The bistro we were supposed to go to was closed on Monday so we headed over next door to a pub called Original Joes. It was hard not to get the usual burger with a choice of two awesome side! But I was determined to be adventurous, even in a pub.
This time I opted for the Shanghai Noodle Bowl with chicken. Pan seared chicken or prawns and fresh cut vegetables sautéed in a spicy szechuan sauce; served over steamed shanghai noodles. Garnished with chopped cashews and fresh pea shoots.
It was quite tasty but very spicy for my pansy self. My mouth was burning! The bowl was huge and provided some sizable leftovers for dinner. One good thing for me was the dish wasn’t as spicy the next day so I was able to gobble it up.
Sorry, no photo. I did take one but I have a crappy camera phone, it was really dark and I forgot to take one at the start so all I have is a photo of some half eaten noodles. Yum.
Our first New Eats dinner! We decided to go to Spiros Greek Taverna on Barnet Highway in Coquitlam. It was deadsville in the restaurant but their souvlaki was quite tasty! James and I both had the Mixed Souvlaki…no same order issues for me since the plate is a sampler of lamb, beef & chicken. Woo hoo!
